ABOUT

Hi, Iā€™m Krystyna. I dance at every opportunity and write about all sorts of "inappropriate" topics on the internet.

I have had the fortune/misfortune to have needed to navigate the healthcare system many times throughout my life. When I started this blog, I was both navigating the healthcare system as a patient and as a budding medical provider. I thought it was super interesting to see how some of the things I learned in school presented in the "real world", and how the "real world" really sucked from the patient standpoint.

I know what it's like to feel like the healthcare system (providers, insurance, etc.) doesn't give a crap about you or work for you, and knowing what that feels like has shaped the way I practice as a pelvic floor physical therapist.

Things about me that are more interesting than what I do for a living:

  • My name is pronounced like "Christina" - it's the Polish spelling of the name, as my dad was stationed in Poland with the US army right before I was born.

  • In high school I had a job working at kid's birthday parties dressed up as a disney princess - I wrote college applications about how I had achieved my childhood dream of being a princess when I grew up.

  • I wrote a sex and relationships column in undergrad, at The College of William and Mary (my mom knew about it, and read it. Luckily that really prepared her for all of the potentially awkward things I write about on this blog. I still manage to shock her every once in a while.)

  • In the last 10 years I have lived in Virginia, Seattle, Atlanta, and Denver. I am hoping not to ping pong across the United States 3 years from now.

  • I am known for being a straight shooter and saying what I mean - it has served me really well in some places, and not so well in others.

Meeting and connecting with people is my absolute favorite thing - while parts of the internet are depressing as hell, I am so grateful for it for the opportunities to connect. I'd love to connect with you, hear about who you are and what brought you to my site! Please leave a comment or email me at potentiallyfaultypelvicfloor.com
